Freya is one of the best bra brands for women with DD+ cup sizes, primarily because their bras are designed for bustier women. In fact, it’s rare that their bras are available in anything smaller than a C or D cup, which is reassuring. After all, far too many brands mold bras for a “standard” 34B and then size up/down from there, leaving those of us with larger breasts out in the cold.

Why I like Freya

For one thing, they are easy to wear bras that tend to give good shape for larger boobs. This is especially true if your bust is full on the bottom. What I really love is that Freya was one of the original brands for DD+ women who want to wear fashionable, flirty bras without comprising a supportive fit. They have a wide variety of styles and silhouettes, whether you need a full coverage bra, a strapless bra, or any of their wide range of really cute T-shirt bras that give just the right amount of cleavage.

Because their line is designed for bigger boobs, I also love their sports bra for yoga, working out, or any other athletic activity. Basically, if you want good fit, support, and trendy styles, Freya is a good line for you.

Freya Bra Size Guide

Freya bras and swimwear are available up to a J cup size, and use UK band and cup sizing. That means that we Americans need to make a few adjustments before buying. Don’t worry; it’s easy! The quality and design of Freya products for curvy figures makes it worth it.

While some sizes go up to 40GG, Freya bras are generally available in:

28DD, 28E, 28F, 28FF, 28G, 28GG, 28H
30D, 30DD, 30E, 30F, 30FF, 30G, 30GG, 30H, 30HH
32C, 32D, 32DD, 32E, 32F, 32FF, 32G, 32GG, 32H, 32HH
34C, 34D, 34DD, 34E, 34F, 34FF, 34G, 34GG, 34H, 34HH
36C, 36D, 36DD, 36E, 36F, 36FF, 36G, 36GG, 36H, 36HH
38C, 38D, 38DD, 38E, 38F, 38FF, 38G, 38GG, 38H

The good news, as you can see, is that Freya’s UK sizing uses the same band measurements as you’re used to in the US. Nothing to change here.

What is different is the cup sizes. While US-to-UK cup size conversion can be a little confusing, Freya’s own sizing chart makes it pretty easy. Here’s the deal:

  • If you wear an American DD cup, you’ll also wear a DD cup
  • If you wear an American DDD or F cup, you’ll wear an E cup
  • If you wear an American G cup, you’ll wear an F cup
  • If you wear an American H cup, you’ll wear an FF cup
  • If you wear an American I cup, you’ll wear an F cup
  • If you wear an American J cup, you’ll wear an GG cup

  • So for anything up to and including a DD cup, no changes are necessary. After that, the letters change a little. As for fit, Freya bras run relatively true to size, but a few models have cups that are slightly too big. If you’re on the edge, buy down one cup size. Freya band sizes also run a bit large.

While the process is pretty easy, I’ve written the “ultimate guide” to finding the perfect fit if you need more help.

    The best Freya bras

Being one of my favorite brands, there are a lot of Freya’s models that I recommend.

    T-Shirt Bras

Freya actually has four of my favorite T-shirt models, more than any other brand. I really love wearing them as everyday wear!

    • Deco Plunge T-Shirt Bra. This one offers more plunge and really amazing cleavage! It’s also available in a convertible version.
    • Deco Vibe Plunge T-Shirt Bra. This style can also be worn as a racerback for when you’re rocking a halter top in the summer months.
    • Muse T-Shirt Bra. A simple but powerful and supportive piece for wearing everyday.
    • Idol Balcony T-Shirt Bra. It features lightly lined cups that is sheer enough to hide under even barely-there tops.

    Strapless Bras

My title for best strapless bra actually goes to Wacoal, but Freya comes in a close second with the Deco Strapless Bra. It’s a little hard to put on, but the fact that it’s available in band sizes down to 28 makes it good for fuller figures as well as thin and curvy girls.

    Sports Bras

The Epic Maximum Control Crop Top Sports Bra is one of my favorite sports bras. This is a great piece for tough workouts because it really keeps the girls in place.

    Balconette Bras

The Fancies Plunge Balcony Bra is practically the holy grail of half-cup lingerie, with a lot of support and comfort as it follows the natural shape of your breasts. It’s great for special occasions; the plunge on this thing is ridiculous!

    Where to Buy Freya Bras

While I work in a department store fitting women professionally, most women will enjoy an easier process and wider selection when buying lingerie online.

My favorite store is Bare Necessities, which is managed by women and that understands the needs of larger chests. I don’t take a salary to manage this site, so I rely entirely on earning small commissions from each purchase to help support me writing new blog articles and doing bra reviews.
