Being well endowed comes with many perks, but unfortunately it doesn’t always have women in the perkiest of spirits. Because of the extra weight on our chests, hundreds of thousands of women have back, neck, shoulder, and breast pain and sometimes it affects our daily lives. Our boobs can make life more difficult than what it should be. Running? Forget it. Going braless for a day? Not my thing.
Depending on your lifestyle, you might bend, twist, lift, hunch over, etc. all in one day. These types of movements leave many of us with an awful achy back and overall discomfort. Your back is trying to hold you upright but your breasts are dragging you down. How can you fight this pain?
I hope after you read this you won’t have to worry anymore. Just because you have huge boobs doesn’t mean you need to be in a huge amount of pain.
First, I want to talk about problems in general that arise when we have large breasts.
There’s the obvious: back, neck, and shoulder pain. I’ll elaborate on this shortly.
Stretch marks appear when our skin stretches quicker than what it can handle. This often happens during puberty, pregnancy, and any other occasion where your body goes through rapid changes quickly. The psychological stress from stretch marks is enough already, but it doesn’t help that they’re physically a nuisance, too. Once we have stretch marks, it can be nearly impossible to get rid of them. They can be very distinct, itchy, and can have boils and rashes on them from time to time (like when we get too hot).
Boob sweat causes a world of problems. If you have a lot of sweat it can show through your clothes, causing embarrassment if nothing else. Sweating can also attribute to heat rashes, yeast infections, odor, and itching.
Heat rashes and chafing
These develop when our breasts sweat too much and don’t “breathe” properly. The friction between our breasts paired with the moisture causes an uncomfortable heat rash to develop, leaving red and sometimes raised skin and pain. Chafing causes our skin to be chapped, cracked, inflamed, and sensitive to touch when our breasts continuously rub against each other or our bra or blouse.
Dry skin is often a problem caused from squeezing your boobs into an ill-fitting bra, but it can also be caused from itching, excess sweat, yeast infections, etc. (If you haven’t caught on yet, these things kind of go hand in hand.) Dry skin leads to cracked, open skin, which can cause a world of discomfort underneath your breasts. If you’ve never had to wear a bra while your underboobs were cracked open, I sincerely hope you never have to know what that feels like.
They thrive in warm, moist environments, so it’s no surprise that many busty women develop them under their breasts. Candidiasis is what it’s technically referred to when it’s under the breasts, but it’s the same as a vaginal yeast infection. Candidiasis can hurt, itch, burn, and develop blisters and cracks. The more your breasts sweat, the worse your infection will get, or the higher chance you will have of developing an infection.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, posture refers to the position we hold our body upright against gravity while standing, sitting, or lying down.
If your breasts are larger than a D cup – and they probably are since you’re on this blog – there’s a good chance your breasts are causing your back discomfort, which is probably causing you to hunch forward and curve your spine. The terrifying thing about poor posture is that it can cause spinal deformity, cut off our circulation, and make us appear heavier and more out of shape than we are.
When you take back, shoulder, and neck pain out of the equation, those other symptoms alone are enough to make plenty of women uncomfortable in their own breasts. When you throw pain into it, it makes a lot of women desperate. Some women wish they could get a breast reduction while others are just uncomfortable and don’t dress the way they want to or are in too much pain to live to their fullest potential.
I would love to put some of those burdens to rest for you today. Do not get too discouraged until you try everything I have to say:
How does back pain affect us?
Back pain is pretty straightforward to most people – it’s not a difficult concept to comprehend. However, it could be affecting you in ways you have not realized yet. As I’ve hinted, it can be challenging to maintain decent posture and hold your spine up straight when you have excess weight pulling you forward. After a long day of standing, lifting, bending, or even doing minimal work, your back is most likely exhausted and quite sore.
Sometimes this is because our bras are not providing us with enough support, or maybe it is strictly posture related for others; either way, sometimes it just can’t be helped no matter what we do… or so it seems.
How does shoulder pain affect us?
A lot of our shoulder pain can be attributed to shoulder grooves, which happen when bras and other undergarments do not fit properly. If you have never been fitted by a bra fitting professional – and Victoria’s Secret employees don’t count— there’s a good chance you are not wearing the right bra and you might not know your bra size at all.
I don’t mean to say that for you to think I’m calling you stupid – that is not the case at all. What I’m saying is that often bra fitters at places like Victoria’s Secret will tell you you’re a size smaller than what you are so they can make a sale.
Think about it: Let’s say you’re at Victoria’s Secret being fitted for a bra. Your actual bra size is a 34DDD. The associate knows they only have one DDD bra available in the store; the other DDDs are online, and even the ones offered online are few and far between. What they do have a lot of is DD cups. What does the sales associate do? She tells you you’re a 36DD and takes you to choose from the wide array of bras in that size, maximizing the chances of making a sale for the store. This may sound ludicrous or even paranoid, but it happens more often than you think it does.
If your breasts are overflowing your cups or falling out of the bottom of your cups, it is not your size. If the band is cutting into your back or rib cage, causing discomfort and extra skin bulges that make you uncomfortable, it doesn’t fit. If the straps and putting grooves in your shoulders or the center gore between the cups is pushed away from your body, guess what? It does not fit. Now that I’ve taken us on that random – but necessary – detour, let’s move on.
How does neck pain affect us?
I give poor posture and ill-fitting straps the credit for a lot of our neck pain. We often find ourselves slouching because of the extra weight on our chests, which can irritate joints and muscles in our necks. If neck pain starts early in the day, minutes can seem like hours and our happiness can fade quickly. When our straps are too tight on our shoulders, it affects our neck, too, because the straps are pulling down on our bodies harder than what’s necessary, which causes more aches and pains than we would feel if our straps fit comfortably.
What about the emotional distress?
According to an article written by ABC News, what pushed one woman over the edge and influenced her to finally get a breast reduction was the emotional pain that came with having large breasts. The woman, Kelly, said “Having breasts that size was horribly embarrassing. I didn’t feel good about myself anymore; I was ashamed of myself. I fretted going clothes shopping because I’d go to nice clothing stores and they never carried anything that covered my chest. Many times I would look at my husband and just start crying.”
Unfortunately, this is an issue that many women other than Kelly understand a little too well.
Some single women suffer emotionally more than women who already have a husband or a spouse – a woman might want to find a cute outfit to wear out on a first date, or even to the bar, but can’t find anything that fits over her breasts. Finally she DOES find something that fits, but it shows so much cleavage that the woman is afraid to wear it in public because she doesn’t want anyone to label her as being inappropriately dressed. Maybe she’s not in the highest of spirits when she goes out because of all the work it took just to find an outfit, and by the time she finds something to wear her back is hurting from standing around for so long. These women often feel hopeless. They feel that their breasts are putting a barrier between them and their social life, which causes unwanted insecurities. (All insecurities are unwanted, but you get the picture.)
Kelly, the woman from the ABC News article, is a perfect example that it’s not only single women who suffer emotionally as a result of their breasts. Many women in relationships also feel defeated where their breasts are concerned. They, too, have trouble finding clothes that fit, which makes them feel less comfortable around their partner in the bedroom and on date nights. They may not feel as free in the bedroom because of back pain, or maybe their poor posture makes them embarrassed to show skin around their family.
Moms with large breasts are often intimidated when they have to attend school functions. If it’s a formal event, there’s a good chance they’ll have to wear a dress and it might be hard to find one that conceals their breasts – when can be a problem depending on the age of the boys at the function. Nobody wants to be that mom who’s known for showing up to her child’s Christmas concert with her boobs out.
Some women go as far as hunching forward intentionally because they think it will make their chest appear smaller, but that causes many more problems than it solves by increasing back pain that probably already exists. If it doesn’t already exist for a particular woman, she is putting herself at risk for unnecessary back pain by slouching forward on purpose.
What can help alleviate pain?
We can finally address the part that will provide you with some relief!
These are solutions I have personally found to be helpful, as well as solutions that my friends have claimed to be extremely beneficial. I sincerely hope these work for you, too.
I have to admit, I used to think chiropractic care was useless. I was convinced an amateur would further injure my back by paralyzing me somehow, so I never even considered giving a chiropractor a chance.
After I complained for months that my back was hurting, a good friend of mine insisted that I see a chiropractor. After having a look at my spine, an x-ray revealed everything we needed to know: my pelvis was tilted to one side and I had lost all flexibility in my other side. The results said I had higher than normal stress on one side of my pelvis, which made the rest of my spine crooked, too.
I’ve been seeing a chiropractor for spine adjustments for almost a month now and I have felt dramatic results as far as gaining my movement back in my spine.
I have two other friends who claim seeing a chiropractor has been a tremendous help for them as well. The most important step is understanding exactly what you need from a chiropractor, and then finding one in your area who has an immaculate reputation for helping patients.
One form of alternative medicine is acupuncture. Though I haven’t tried acupuncture myself (yikes, needles!), I know plenty of people who have tried acupuncture for things like nerve trouble and muscle spasms.
The following is a piece from a WebMD article on acupuncture for back pain: “It’s thought the effects (of acupuncture) come from stimulating the central nervous system. This may trigger the release of chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals either alter the experience of pain or produce bodily changes that promote a sense of well-being.”
It’s also thought that acupuncture helps pain killing chemicals, like endorphins, flow more easily through the central nervous system and spinal cord. It’s also said to trigger the release of our natural opioids, which lessen pain and promote healthier sleep.
Acupuncture is generally safe when performed by a professional; it’s safer than many other treatments for back pain. Some people are concerned about getting infections or punctured organs as a result of acupuncture, but like I said, as long as it’s performed by a professional and not some freak off the street you should be just fine. Complications from acupuncture are extremely rare.
Massage therapy is one of my very best friends. It can be too expensive for people who are on a strict budget, but if you’re able to combine massage therapy once or twice a month with chiropractor care, you’re likely to feel much better than you ever imagined was possible.
Massages done by a professional increases your blood flow and circulation, which helps vital nutrients reach your muscles and tissues. It also decreases tension in your muscles which can improve your flexibility, improve sleep, and reduce pain caused from tight or strained muscles. This is especially beneficial for women who suffer muscle strains in their mid to upper back as a result of their large breasts.
Like acupuncture, massage therapy releases endorphins, which are your “feel good” chemicals. Endorphins help rid you of anxiety and depression, which in turn can reduce pain and help you achieve a speedy recovery from your back, neck, and shoulder pain.
If you have had recent surgery, an infectious skin disease, a rash, an unhealed wound, varicose veins, or osteoporosis, you need to consult with your doctor before having a massage.
You’re probably thinking you wish I would shut up right now. While advising you to follow a healthy diet sounds repetitive to a lot of people, it genuinely does make your overall quality of life better if you are treating your body with respect. If you are consuming twinkies, quarter pounders with cheese, bacon, and Dr. Pepper everyday of your life, your already inconvenient symptoms are probably being intensified by your poor diet and lack of proper nutrition.
It is 100% necessary that you incorporate fresh vegetables, fruits, lean means, and grains into your daily diet. You would be amazed at how many of your symptoms decrease when you fuel your body with foods that will treat you right.
Look for a bra specifically made for distributing the weight of large breasts. Many women who have narrow shoulders or slouch forward benefit from these bras because it helps them stand upright. A posture bra will help by supporting your breasts and your back, giving your shoulders, neck, and upper back muscles relief. The relief felt by alleviating your pain should also help soothe tension headaches if you have those.
Most posture bras feature a racerback, a front closure, thick straps, and separated cups. Because of how much support the band on posture bras provides us with, most posture bras are considered longline bras.
Your posture bra MUST have the separated cups if you expect it to give you maximum support. Encapsulation bras, which feature two separate cups, are a necessity for women with a large bust. Compression bras, the ones that fit both boobs into the same piece of fabric, are only recommended for women with small breasts.
You also want to choose a posture bra that features a high cut racerback instead of a low cut racerback. The higher the back of the bra, the more support your breasts will receive.
It’s appropriate to wear a posture bra as your daily bra if you feel the need. Some women only wear a posture bra on their worst days.
Exercise and stretching
Go for a walk on your lunch break, walk to the nearest coffee shop instead of driving, or wake up thirty minutes early every morning to do some quick at home exercises that will help you feel energized and relaxed throughout the day. If you can, try to get up and move once every hour. Even if you do something small, like ten push ups or lunges every hour, that’s a start.
Let’s say you’re at home all day. You are up for fifteen hours. You get up and do ten push ups for at least twelve of those fifteen hours. That puts you doing at least 120 push ups per day.
If you get bored easily or fear straining one part of your body too much, do pushups one hour, lunges the next, jumping jacks after that, and then squats.
If you exercise once every hour for twelve hours, that puts you doing three sets of the four exercises I just mentioned in one day.
It won’t take most people even five minutes out of each hour to complete the exercises. I promise your body and your mind will thank you for doing this over time. You will stretch your muscles, which will eventually soothe back pain and improve posture, plus you will increase your brain activity. Try doing a few quick yoga poses before bed. If you look online for yoga poses, there are even some that can be done ON your bed! It doesn’t get much simpler than that!
Yoga is one of the best types of exercise you can do for your posture, plus it helps you become more limber and less prone to injury and aches and pains. You’d be surprised at how flexible and free you feel after doing yoga stretches for a couple weeks.
A physical therapist or a personal trainer are going to be very beneficial to women who have the unhealthy habit of slouching forward because their large breasts are making them uncomfortable. A physical therapist is probably going to have a little more experience and knowledge in the anatomy of the female body and might be able to show you more exercises and stretches to try, but a personal trainer can probably help, too. Either of these professionals can educate you on ways to improve your posture which will ultimately relieve some of your symptoms.
If you want a few basic tips to try until you can talk to someone educated in the field, try these:
Try scapular strengthening
Scapula is another word for shoulder blade. If you strengthen your shoulders/shoulder blades, your posture will improve, which again will alleviate pain and discomfort over time. To do scapular strengthening, stand with your back, buttocks, ankles, and head against a wall. Hold your arms at shoulder level and keep your elbows on the wall. Raise your arms up as far as you can while keeping your elbows touching the wall. After raising your arms, lower your arms and elbows on the fall, squeezing your shoulder blades all the way down. Do this five times a day to increase your posture over time.
Thoracic muscular reinforcement
Lie on your stomach and place your fingertips on the back of your head. Raise your head and upper chest off the ground and hold this position as long as you can. You should feel your muscles working in your middle and upper back. Try raising your feet at the same time if you want to intensify the exercise. Do this exercise five times every single day.
Place a pillow under your mid back and lie down so that your back slightly arches over it. Raise your arms over your head. Stay this way for five to ten minutes each day and slowly increase the size of the cushion as you grow more comfortable with the exercise.
Despite stretching, exercise, massage, and other measures taken to alleviate back pain, it does not change the fact that our breasts are still connected to our bodies and sometimes we are going to hurt no matter what.
There are numerous over the counter and prescription medications that can be taken to alleviate or reduce back, neck, and shoulder pain.
I’m sure you’re familiar with the term NSAIDs; if you have never heard this word before, it’s an abbreviation for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. These drugs, as hinted in their name, are made to fight inflammation in the body. Ibuprofen, which is also known as Motrin, and naproxen, also known as Aleve, are both NSAID medications that can help soothe the back, neck, and shoulder pain caused by your large breasts.
Tylenol, also known as acetaminophen, is not an NSAID, but it’s another over the counter medication used to treat back pain and related illnesses.
There are prescription only NSAIDs available, like Celebrex, Voltaren, Mobic, and Relafen that you can ask your doctor if you can try.
When NSAIDs are not enough, people with back pain are often prescribed muscle relaxers, like Tizanidine, Cyclobenzaprine, Baclofen, and Carisoprodol. The downside to muscle relaxers, though, is that they often make you very sleepy and a little too relaxed, which makes driving and other activities difficult at times.
Tramadol is a pain medication that’s often prescribed for people with more severe back pain.
You can also get over the counter or prescription NSAIDs that are in the form of a topical cream. The upside to topical creams is that they only affect the area you rub them on, as opposed to pills affecting your whole entire body. This is a pro when you take into account that long term use of NSAID pills can negatively affect our liver and kidneys.
When someone has severe back, neck, and shoulder pain that cannot be alleviated by any other measure, sometimes they’re given steroid injections. A lot of doctors use injections as a last resort because they can have scary side effects, like being jittery, having a rapid heart rate, weight gain, and insomnia.
During a breast reduction, excess fat, glandular tissue, and skin is removed from the breasts through incisions. Sometimes doctors remove excess fat from the breasts by performing liposuction in addition to extracting fat through incisions. If the breasts are primarily made of excess fat, a plastic surgeon might use liposuction as his or her only means of removing fat from the breasts.
During a breast reduction, you’ll first be put under anesthesia. The incision(s) will be around your nipples and will leave permanent scars that should be easily concealed under a bathing suit or bra.
There are a few reasons why women choose to get a breast reduction. Some women simply do not like the size of their breasts, some women feel like they draw unnecessary sexual attention, and other women feel like their breasts cause them to be in a lot of unwanted pain and distress.
While not every woman with large breasts has back, neck, and shoulder pain, plenty of women who DO have that discomfort are uncomfortable enough that it controls their daily life, which often leads to them having a breast reduction.
Plenty of women who have large breasts have at least considered having a breast reduction but did not follow through either because they cannot afford it, they are afraid of surgery, or they don’t know if they qualify. Depending on each woman’s breast size and their health problems, some women’s doctors may deem a breast reduction medically necessary, while it might be considered a cosmetic or optional surgery for other women.
On the website www.plasticsurgery.org, Dr. Anne Taylor, MD, MPH, says “I am often asked, “What operation has the happiest post op-patients?” The answer is easy – breast reduction.”
Because there’s always risk with surgery and anesthesia and because you can never have your original breasts back, I recommend having a breast reduction done as a last resort. It should not be a decision you up and decide to do one night when you’re feeling spontaneous – this is a serious surgery that can have serious consequences if you end up being unhappy with smaller breasts. Make sure you think about it long and hard and discuss the risks and benefits of a breast reduction with a well respected plastic surgeon in your area before making big decisions.
Causes of back pain that are not related to our breasts
It’s important to note the factors that can also contribute to back, neck, and shoulder pain that have nothing to do with our breasts. Hopefully after I explain these factors you will have a better idea of whether it is your breasts causing the pain or if it’s something else.
Obesity causes distress to your whole body, your back included. If you’re obese, it’s not necessarily your breasts alone that are causing problems, but your weight in general.
For example, if a woman gains 70 pounds during pregnancy and starts having back pain a few months after giving birth, there’s a good chance her problems are from the new weight her body is adjusting to and not her breasts alone.
Try to use a BMI calculator to calculate your BMI. It will take your height, weight, and sometimes age and gender and give you an idea of where your stand as far as being overweight, mildly obese, moderately obese, or morbidly obese.
These are the typical BMI ranges:
A normal, healthy BMI is anywhere between 20 and 25.
A BMI of 25 to 29 is considered overweight.
30 to 34 is considered obese.
A BMI of 35 is considered morbidly obese if the person also has an obesity related health condition, such as diabetes, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, or high blood pressure.
A BMI of 40 without an existing obesity related health condition is also considered morbidly obese.
There are steps you can take to help your pain and discomfort if you are obese. First, if you are considered morbidly obese, you might qualify for weight loss surgery. This is something I can’t give you too much help on, because it all depends on whether or not your insurance covers it and if you’re physically and mentally stable enough to go through a major surgery.
If surgery is not an option, it is vital that you maintain a consistent workout routine. Even if it’s walking 30 minutes a day, that is a great start if you combine it with a healthy diet.
Always drink as much water as you can.
Consider investing in a posture bra and taking over the counter pain medicine when your aches are getting the best of you.
If your pain starts during pregnancy, you have to take into account the hormonal changes your body is going through. This can certainly be the root of your problems. It’s worth mentioning to your OBGYN to make sure there’s not an underlying reason you’re in so much pain.
Years of poor posture
As we have already talked about today, having big breasts can absolutely attribute to poor posture, so they go hand in hand quite often. However, if you’ve had poor posture for most of your life and even before your breasts were large, it might not be your breasts causing the problem. It’s important to meet with a physical therapist or a personal trainer who can help you improve your posture. It can be very difficult for someone who’s always had poor posture to recognize and correct it on their own.
If you have a desk job or sit for most of the day, you’re more likely to slouch forward for long periods of time than most other people. If you do this for years, you are putting yourself at a big disadvantage as far as back pain is concerned.
Remind yourself often that your chest needs to be pushed outward.
Because so many of us tend to slouch forward without realizing it, it can be difficult to remind ourselves to push our chests out. If you worry you’ll have trouble remembering, set some kind of alarm or reminder on your phone telling you to make the conscious effort to push your chest out. Set the reminder for every three or four hours if you have to. If you do this for a couple weeks, by the third or fourth week you should be more conscious of your posture and it shouldn’t take so much work to hold yourself up the way you need to. Pull your shoulders back, look straight ahead with your chin up, and push your breasts out. It will help over time.
Injury or overexertion
This one seems self-explanatory. I mean you would know if you had an injury, right? It seems like a given. But you might be doing something repetitively that is causing distress without you realizing it.
For example, if you live in an upstairs apartment and you always have to carry groceries upstairs by yourself, this can certainly cause back and shoulder pain if you’re straining to carry too many bags at once or if you make too many trips up and down the stairs carrying grocery bags.
If you have a baby or a toddler and you’re constantly picking him or her up and swinging them around, there’s a good chance that is contributing to your back pain, too.
Just think about your daily activities and ask yourself if you are performing an activity that might be straining your muscles or joints.
Bulged or herniated discs
A lot of people have bulged or herniated discs. They can be extremely painful and sometimes disabling because they hurt so much. If you’re unsure of the difference, a bulge is not as bad as a herniation. A bulge has a better chance of healing with proper self-care and does not require as much medicine or therapy as a herniation.
Your spine has four segments that can be affected by bulged or herniated discs:
Your cervical spine is in your neck.
Your thoracic spine connects your neck to your lower back.
Your lumbar spine is your lower back.
Your sacral spine is your tailbone.
You can have bulges and herniations in one or all segments of your back. Some women think their breasts are causing their neck and back pain, but it turns out they have herniated discs in their neck and thoracic or lumbar region.
If you have a history of lifting heavy objects or if you have been in a car wreck, I encourage you to have imaging of your spine done just to rule bulges and herniated discs out. You don’t want to further injure yourself by assuming your breasts are the problem.
These are only a handful of causes of back pain, but they’re a place to start if you’re unsure if it’s your breasts causing problems or not. Even if you do have one of the problems I just mentioned, having large breasts can certainly exacerbate the conditions you already have. Your breasts can make it harder for strained muscles or herniated discs to heal.
For some reason, too many people claim there’s no such thing as back pain caused from the weight of large breasts. I guess those people just think that women with large breasts take pain medicine and complain about hurting because they have nothing better to do. I mean, it’s not like we have lives to live or anything. (Please excuse my sarcasm.)
Having large boobs does not automatically mean you will suffer from back pain and discomfort; that’s not what I am saying at all. There are probably busty women who will read this who’ve never suffered from back pain as a result of their breasts – and that’s great for them. But it does affect hundreds of thousands of women around the world who are not as lucky as others. Just because back pain does not affect every woman with large breasts does not mean that it simply does not exist. That is absurd!
There are a ton of factors you must take into consideration to confirm that your breasts are or are not the root of your pain. Posture, as I have mentioned already, is certainly one of those factors. In fact, it’s probably one of the biggest and most significant factors.
Other “small” factors you need to take into consideration are how you are lifting things when you lift them, how often you’re lifting things, the physical requirements for your job or personal life, and even the bra you’re wearing. It’s easy to dismiss these factors because they seem small or meaningless, but those factors combined with others can be painful enough to control your daily routines.
Considering everything I have said today, you should not self-diagnose yourself – that can be a very dangerous thing for someone to do. If your back is hurting consistently, you need to get checked out by a doctor to confirm that your breasts are the cause. It could be a number of things, so do not just assume your breasts are the problem. If you feel certain your breasts are the source of your pain, try the remedies I have recommended to you today and if you’re not feeling enough relief, see a doctor as soon as you can. You could be further injuring yourself by not going to see a doctor, which can make having large breasts even harder later on down the road.
Any woman can suffer from back pain as a result from her breasts, but small women with disproportionate breasts and women who have just had a breast augmentation are more likely to experience back pain as a direct result of their breasts instead of one of the underlying causes I mentioned earlier. Women who are suffering as a result of a breast augmentation are likely to only suffer from back pain for a couple months while their body adjusts to the change in weight, but if it turns into chronic pain that does not go away, you need to see a doctor.
With all that being said, many women can avoid needing a breast reduction if they consistently try the remedies I mentioned today. Very few women find absolutely no relief in the tips I’ve provided you with. However, some women are not as lucky as others and will need to consider a breast reduction anyway. Regardless of what remedy works for you, just keep reminding yourself to keep your chin up, both physically and figuratively. You might never be completely free of pain, but you can be darn close if you take care of yourself and establish ways to manage your discomfort.
Luckily I have already given you information on how to establish ways to manage your pain, so all you have to do now is DO WHAT I SAID!

Like I said earlier, set alarms on your phone reminding you to do things if you have to. Setting alarms for about four weeks maximum should get you in the habit of making the necessary lifestyle changes on your own. If you genuinely want to drink more water, exercise, stretch, go for a massage, but you just don’t, there could be a mental block keeping you from doing what you know you need to do.
In that case, surround yourself with people who will encourage you to make these changes. Even consider speaking with a life coach or a psychologist. Either of those professionals can help you determine what is going on in your mind that is keeping you from making the proper changes needed to better the quality of your life. Once it’s addressed, you can overcome it faster than you think. Even though our bodies are sometimes ready, it can be difficult to get our minds on board, too. It never, ever hurts to ask for a little help.
